From the City of Sugar Land:

When utilizing a crosswalk as a bicyclist, there are some things you need to remember that will keep you safe.

- Utilize available crosswalks whether they are signaled or unsignaled.

- Make eye contact with surrounding motorists before crossing and ensure you have enough time to get across before the signal changes, even if it says "go!" Don't assume the driver is paying attention.

- Children riding bikes should walk their bikes across a crosswalk and ideally, when possible young children should have a parent with them.

- Make sure you are distraction free and are aware of other pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists.

Motorists and bikers alike should be vigilant. Share the Road, Sugar Land!
