The City of Richmond is launching a new Emergency Notification System.

From the City of Richmond:

The City of Richmond is launching a new Emergency Notification System via a website – www.InformRichmond.com to keep residents, businesses, or anyone interested better informed. People can sign up to receive emergency alerts via text message, email, pager, or voice mail. Simply go to the website and follow the step-by- step instructions to register your contact information into the database. It is important to have this information to communicate alerts during cases of emergencies such as severe weather, police & fire emergencies, or specific hazards that require action such as evacuation, shelter in place or boil water notices. If we can’t reach you, we can’t alert you!

Non-emergency alerts will also be communicated such as significant transportation/ mobility problems with prolonged impact or upcoming events. The system also offers a free App called My Alerts to be downloaded on your mobile device to receive notifications wherever you are.
