The City of Sugar Land assumes the management of the Farmer’s Market at Imperial Park.

From the City of Sugar Land:

The City of Sugar Land is excited to announce a significant development in the heart of our vibrant community. Starting this October, the Farmer’s Market at Imperial Park, a beloved local institution, will be under the management of the City of Sugar Land. This transition marks a new chapter in the market’s storied history, as it moves from the hands of the market’s creator, the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce to become an integral part of the city’s offerings.

The Farmer’s Market at Imperial Park, located at 234 Matlage Way, has been a cherished gathering place for residents and visitors alike, offering a diverse range of fresh produce, artisanal goods, and a lively, family-friendly atmosphere every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. With this change in management, the City of Sugar Land aims to further enhance the market’s role as a hub of community engagement and economic opportunity.

“The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce is proud of the growth and success of the Farmer’s Market during our tenure,” explained Keri Schmidt, President & CEO of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. “We are confident that the City of Sugar Land will continue to nurture this community treasure and take it to new heights.”

Key Highlights of the Transition:

Community-Centric Focus: The City of Sugar Land is committed to preserving the warm and welcoming atmosphere that has made the market a beloved destination for families and food enthusiasts. There will continue to be a strong emphasis on supporting local businesses and providing a welcoming space for all to enjoy.

Expanded Offerings: While retaining the market’s core offerings of fresh produce, artisanal food, handcrafted items, and more, the City plans to introduce new elements to enrich the overall experience, such as themed events, educational workshops, and special promotions.

Strong Partnerships: The City will actively seek partnerships with local organizations, schools, and nonprofits to further strengthen the market’s ties to the community and foster collaboration that benefits all residents.

“The City of Sugar Land is thrilled to take on the management of the Farmer’s Market at Imperial Park,” said Kimberly Terrell, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation. “This transition signifies our dedication to supporting local businesses, nurturing community connections, and enhancing the quality of life for our residents. We look forward to building upon the market’s legacy and providing an even more enriching experience for all who visit.”
