The annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Sugar Land Town Square is December 6.

From the City of Sugar Land:

Get ready for an evening of joy on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5-8 p.m. The city of Sugar Land invites the community into the heart of the city for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Sugar Land Town Square.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Sugar Land welcomes all families to come together and revel in the spirit of the season during what’s expected to be an enchanting event.

Santa will ride on his sleigh and park it on the deck in hopes that those in attendance will climb aboard for a memorable photo. Speaking of photos, there will be plenty of opportunities to capture magical moments, including the lit LET IT SNOW photo booth and an 8-foot exhilarating snow slide.  That’s not all.  Prepare to be amazed by strolling characters and a medley of joyous activities that will ensure this annual tradition is a night to remember.

Casting a spotlight on our main stage performances, local schools, dance groups and a popular live band will provide an evening of entertainment. Cool LED décor and activities will be a hot spot to swing by and visit. Children will have a moment to spend with Santa, and just in case the little ones forgot to tell Santa what’s on their wish list, there will be a station for writing letters to him.

As the night closes, a short introduction from Mayor Joe. R. Zimmerman and City Council will take place. The man of the hour will join in on the traditional countdown to the highly anticipated Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.  Following this magical moment, there will be a short, yet spectacular display of snow and cold sparks that will leave everyone in awe.

Onsite food and beverages will be available for purchase, and event entry and parking is FREE. The city of Sugar Land will also provide shuttles to and from Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd., for all attendees from 4:30-9:30 p.m.

A detailed schedule of the evening’s activities will be available soon at www.SugarLandTX.gov/TreeLighting.
