Sugar Land City Council recognizes the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Class of 2020-2021.

From the City of Sugar Land:

Sugar Land City Council recently recognized the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) Class of 2020-2021.

The class represented the 16th year of the program and had participation from 12 area high schools.

The community engagement program empowers youth to become active members of the community through public service and make a lasting impact in their city by learning how local government works and the opportunities they have to get involved. Throughout the past year, MYAC students met virtually with government officials and city staff and had the opportunity to offer their perspectives by leading discussion-based sessions on current issues that are important to youth.

“MYAC offered me the chance to interact with city leaders and learn about all the work and thought that goes into each part of making Sugar Land thrive,” said class Chair Norah Rami.

To meet the class of 2021, visit the online yearbook at www.sugarlandtx.gov/MYAC2021. For more information or questions, visit www.sugarlandtx.gov/myac, email myac@sugarlandtx.gov or call (281) 275-2329.
