Sugar Land’s First Colony Branch Library celebrates its 25 Anniversary.

The library celebrated its 25 Anniversary with a special performance of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” presented by the Magik Theatre on Saturday, June 9.

Chron.com reports that “The First Colony Branch Library was opened in June 1993. Designed by architect Mark A. Stewart from Brooks Association for Architecture and Planning, construction costs for the 19,400 square-foot library facility totaled approximately $2.8 million, according to library officials. Funding was provided via a 1989 voter-approved bond. The $10.9 bond provided funds to renovate the county’s main library and construction of a total of four new branch libraries.”
