Who says it doesn’t snow in First Colony?

The forecast shows it will be “snowing” on Saturday, December 15th when the “Winter Blast” Event comes to First Colony. First Colony Community Association (FCCA) is hosting the event from 10 am – 2 pm next to the small parking lot at 4350 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land. Residents are invited to come and play in the artificial “snow”!

Ninety thousand pounds of shaved ice (“snow”) will be blown in for kids of all ages to enjoy. Activities will include sledding, 2 play areas for toddlers and older kids (divided by age), inflatables, face painters, music and a rock wall. Take a holiday picture in a life-sized snow globe! The “snow” is actually made from shaved ice and blown in, so it will contain some chunks of ice and harden when it starts to melt. FCCA will limit throwing “snowballs” within the designated areas and will not allow throwing them at individuals.

We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at the event for those that would like to donate to Santa’s Exchange/Toys for Tots.

So, grab your mittens, jackets and sled and join us for loads of snowy fun (the Association will provide a limited number of sleds to use). The event is free.

For questions or if you would like to volunteer to help at the event, please e-mail alicef@firstcolony.org.
