Heavy rainfall is expected this weekend.

A message from the City of Sugar Land:

Forecasters continue to expect a weather system in the Gulf to make landfall along the upper Texas coast as a tropical storm this weekend. With heavy rainfall expected, it’s a good opportunity to practice staying home, avoiding unnecessary trips and gatherings, and practicing safe distancing that’s been difficult for some. We’re in the midst of hurricane season. That combined with COVID presents real concerns this year. Those of us on the front lines – including first-responders like police, public works, firefighters, paramedics and our health care heroes – need the public’s help to follow simple measures that will keep us all safe. Our worst fear is the combination of a hurricane and escalating COVID cases that place response capabilities at risk. Should we face such a COVICANE this summer, it will further deplete these valuable resources. So help us out and Wear That Facemask.
