From the City of Sugar Land:
Applications are now open for the 2026-2027 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC). Interested students should submit completed applications by 4:59 p.m. on Sept.11 at www.sugarlandtx.gov/MYAC.
MYAC gives Sugar Land students an inside look at local government while empowering them to become active and engaged members of their community. Through monthly meetings held at various facilities, students will connect with city staff from various departments as well as their local elected officials, learn about City services and programs, work alongside other Sugar Land students and explore ways they can make a lasting impact on their community.
Eligible students must be high school juniors for the 2026-2027 school year and must live in the corporate city limits of Sugar Land. A Sugar Land mailing address or ZIP code does not necessarily mean an address is within city limits. Students can verify whether their home address is within Sugar Land city limits at www.sugarlandtx.gov/myneighborhood. If you are unsure whether your address qualifies, contact myac@sugarlandtx.gov.
For more information or questions, visit http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/myac, email myac@sugarlandtx.gov or call (281) 275-2343.
