From the City of Sugar Land:
The city of Sugar Land has officially opened a new splash pad at Sugar Land Memorial Park, giving residents another family-friendly destination for outdoor recreation and water play.

The new splash pad expands recreational opportunities at one of Sugar Land’s most popular parks and provides another space where families can gather, play and enjoy the outdoors together.
Sugar Land Memorial Park is the city’s second most visited park, attracting approximately 198,000 visitors who make about 571,000 visits annually. Based on the popularity of the city’s existing splash pad at RiverPark and feedback from residents through the Community Survey and Sugar Land Speaks, the Parks and Recreation Department identified Memorial Park as an ideal location for the city’s second splash pad.
“This new splash pad is more than a place to play. It’s another way Sugar Land brings our community together and creates lasting memories for families for years to come,” said Kimberly Terrell, Director of Parks and Recreation.
Located adjacent to the existing Memorial Park playground, the approximately 8,300-square-foot facility includes a fenced 2,450-square-foot water spray zone surrounded by walkways, seating, a large shade structure and landscaped areas. Its location provides convenient access to the park’s existing playground, restrooms, trails and other amenities.
The spray zone includes 11 interactive water play elements designed for children of different ages and abilities, ranging from a small slide for toddlers to a large water bucket cluster. The facility also includes sidewalk connections to existing pathways, perimeter fencing, access gates, seating and other site furnishings.
The splash pad uses a flow-through system for safe and efficient water use and management. The facility and surrounding amenities were designed to complement the existing park while providing a new recreational experience for families.
The project was funded through the Sugar Land 4B Corporation using sales tax dollars dedicated to community and recreational improvements. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, reflecting the city’s commitment to responsibly managing public resources while providing high-quality recreational amenities that enhance the suburban community.
The Memorial Park Splash Pad will remain open for the season through October 31 and will reopen April 15, 2027. Operating hours are sunrise to sunset. The splash pad will be closed every Monday for routine maintenance.
Sugar Land Memorial Park is located at 15300 University Blvd.
